It's really helped me break out of the "Windows-only" horse-blinders. has really come to be one of the biggest positive improvements in my entire career. That change (becoming "bi-lingual" across multiple platforms (Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, etc). and this year for the first time I got to attend WWDC in San Jose. We have Developer accounts with Apple and Google. I'm the "guru" of mobile-devices and the Project Lead of our Airwatch MDM solution. While I still do a wide variety of things (Helpdesk tickets, Projects, "other duties as assigned".). and the trajectory of my career has been heavily dominated by mobile-devices ever since. By the BYOD / mobile-device tsunami was not avoidable. ![]() During that time our environment (much like everyone else) was "Desktop and Blackberry". I picked up mobile-devices Apple/Android,etc around 2007 or so when the iPhone came out and more so in 2010 when the original iPad released. The large bulk of that time was Windows-oriented (first job I got, the computer I was given was running WFWG 3.11, believe it or not), but have worked with every version of Windows from then to now. ![]() (was casual/hobby/self-interested in computers since late 80's~ish). I'm 44yrs old and have been employed in IT/Technology since around 1996 or so. I'm the only Mac user in the entire Dept. I'm 9years into an IT Dept in a small City Gov. ![]()
